Jason Evans is an Australian-born, New York based filmmaker and art director. He began his career agency side as a creative, specializing in concept development for fashion, beauty, art, and music projects, for brands such as: Jil Sander, Y-3, Uniqlo, H&M, RCA and Nike. As an art director he has led projects from conception to completion, providing direction and guidance to collaborators, creative partners and team members, through an open dialogue. An experience which continues to inform his holistic approach to work.
As a filmmaker Jason captures intimate moments through elevated visuals, natural performances, and sensory-driven details. Over the past decade he has directed films for brands including: Apple, MoMA, Oakley, Mercedes-Benz, Dior, Shiseido, Uniqlo, Theory, H&M, Miele, Sheraton and All Nippon Airways, to name a few.
His own films have screened at festivals and institutions including MoMA’s Doc Fortnight, Cinéma du Réel, Sydney Film Festival, the Museum of the Moving Image, Centre Pompidou, and the Barbican, with premieres on cultural platforms such as NOWNESS.
