About
Jason Evans is a New York based art director and filmmaker with over a decade's worth of experience in the commercial film and advertising industry.
He began his career agency side as a creative, specializing in campaign and brand work for fashion, beauty, art, and music clients, including: Jil Sander, Y-3, Uniqlo, H&M, Theory, RCA and Nike. As an Associate Creative Director at Lloyd&Co, for seven years he led projects from conception to completion, providing direction and guidance to collaborators, creative partners and team members, through an open dialogue.
As a filmmaker Jason captures intimate moments through elevated visuals, natural performances, and sensory-driven details. Over the past decade he has directed campaign films for: Apple, MoMA, Dior, Shiseido, SK-II, Uniqlo, H&M, Oakley, Mercedes-Benz, Sheraton, Miele, and All Nippon Airways, to name a few.
Jason is also involved in many curatorial projects. He has been a guest-programmer for The Criterion Channel and Le Cinéma Club, and currently organizes an ongoing series of screenings and artist talks at Metrograph cinema. Since 2008 he has published acclaimed art archive This Long Century—a collection of personal reflections from artists, filmmakers, photographers, writers, and poets the world over.
His own films have screened at festivals and institutions including MoMA’s Doc Fortnight, Cinéma du Réel, Sydney Film Festival, the Museum of the Moving Image, Centre Pompidou, and the Barbican, with premieres on cultural platforms such as NOWNESS.
